Who we are

Home Bakes by Jess is a home bakery based in Devon, England, run by Jessica Reardon. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email homebakesbyjessdevon@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

When you place an order, our payment provider Stripe collects your name, email address, delivery address and payment details on our behalf. We use this information solely to take payment, bake your order, post it to you, and contact you about your order if we need to. The legal basis for this is the performance of a contract — we can't deliver cookies without knowing where to send them.

We never see or store your card details — payment is processed entirely by Stripe, which is certified to the highest payment-security standard (PCI DSS Level 1). You can read Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

Our website is hosted by Netlify, whose servers automatically log basic technical information (such as IP addresses) for security purposes, as virtually all websites do.

Cookies (the browser kind)

Our website does not set any tracking or advertising cookies and does not use analytics. When you check out, Stripe's payment page may use cookies that are strictly necessary for processing your payment securely.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else, and we don't send marketing emails unless you've asked us to.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for 6 years, as required by UK tax law, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, ask for it to be deleted, and object to how it's used. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address above. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
